“If someone corrects you, and you feel offended, then you have an ego problem.” – Nouman Ali Kahn
Sometimes we react towards others based on our feelings out of fear instead of coming from a place of love. If our ego’s become offended or take things personally, we are coming from a place of fear, not love. Our fear-based ego is completely an illusion. When we were born into this world, we were open to our true beings and came from a place of love, as we grew up we became conditioned by the current fear-based perceptions of the world we live in.
Only when we are ready to see the entirety of our false consciousness of the ego, we come to a point in our lives where we recognize that our egos defense mechanisms are no longer working for us; they are simply misguided attempts for love and acceptance. When we become aware and fully understand how the ego affects everyone and everything in the world, we can let it go with love & compassion.
“Ego…Take off the “E” and let it go!
“The moment you become aware of the ego in you, it is strictly speaking no longer the ego, but just an old conditioned mind pattern. Ego implies unawareness. Awareness and ego cannot coexist.”
“The ego is the single biggest obstruction to the achievement if anything.” - Richard Rose
